MUSIC MAGAZINE FINAL FRONT COVER

MUSIC MAGAZINE FINAL FRONT COVER: Genre; Pop

• I firstly started of by using Adobe Photoshop in order to edit the photo I had taken.

CREATING THE BACKGROUND (Adobe Photoshop)

• I created a new layer and then a circular shape which I fill was filled in blue and then blurred by using Gaussian Blur (Directions: Filter – Blur – Gaussian Blur). I Then Create many layers doing the same process but with different colours.

• Once that was done I then applied a difference cloud effect over the whole project and apply the projection to hard light.

• Once this is done I use the paint brush tool and change the settings to scattering so I am able to create a path of dots. I also create dots which are a smaller size and then change the projection to soft light.

PHOTO EDITING (Adobe Photoshop)

• I take the photo I have taken for the front cover and transform the scale of the image to fit a presentable size. I then sharpen the image. After I extract the body of the picture from the background, I then change the colour scheme of the picture to greyscale before importing it on to the background I had made.

TEXT ON INDESIGN

• I then export the image to Adobe InDesign where I add the title ‘Poplar’ using Verdana text font with a white stroke and bevel and emboss in order to make it stand out.

• After I add a headlines showing use of the colour by highlight the main attracts, executed with a black stroke. Then moving on to main head line using Staple font it order to give the impression it was stamped.

EXTRA ADD ONS

• Once that was done I then imported an image of a barcode above it adding the price of the magazine. As well as adding the issue number and date of the magazine directly below the title.

• Lastly using adobe photo shop pen tool to create swirl around the image then by using the paint brush tool to cover the path made with various colours. This made the design look more creative.
